WEEK 4 UPDATE !!!!!! Wow wow wow has life just been so sweet here !!!!

A couple weeks ago we got to go to Kruger National Park in South Africa — where they filmed Blended!!!!! My 10 year old self was absolutely FREAKING OUT. We did an all day safari, and got to see the Africa Big 5! (Rhino, Elephant, Leopard, Lion, and Cape Buffalo). It was so refreshing to see the Lord’s dominion over these massive animals. It was such a sweet day to reflect & be in His presence in His creation.

This past week I was asked to give a teaching on prayer for my squad! I have never taught before, so this was a big challenge for me. I was SO EXCITED! I knew this was the perfect place to give a teaching because these are the people I want to learn and be edified by! I taught on Prayer As Worship, and how prayer is the highest form of worship we can give the Lord! It was so much fun and truly so growing to get to put words to my spaghetti brain and teach on this spiritual discipline that I am so passionate about!

Ministry has just been the sweetest experience ever. These kids are unlike any other and their smiles, their hugs, their laughter, and joy could pull anyone out of the worst day ever. If you need evidence of the Lord & His faithfulness — this is all you need. These kids don’t have everything they could ever want, but they have Jesus, and they have the only thing they truly could ever need.

Last night (2/22) we had QUITE THE NIGHT !!! Our worship coordinators put together an all night revival from 7pm-7am where we could just sit with the Lord, pray, worship, dance, talk, sing, cry, journal, read — anything and everything. What an INCREDIBLE night it was. We had about 40 community members join us for a couple hours. We learned a few Siswati songs and it was truly the most unifying time getting to worship with others from different language and culture. The Lord was on the move & made His presence known so clearly last night. We had many silly stories — somehow a German shepherd wound up in our house at 2am — but the night was nothing short than a reflection of what Heaven will look like when every tribe, tongue, and nation come together to praise the King of Kings.

Annnnnd a sweet update about our precious Anele — we were able to do a home visit and assess what life is like at home, family dynamics, health/safety concerns, etc. We bought him 2 new pairs of clothes and shoes (he was ecstatic!!!!!!) We also brought his whole family lots of groceries on Tuesday, things like eggs, milk, rice, bread, and maize. After delivering these goodies to his family, we had the privilege of watching his little demeanor shift from timid, silent, and still to bright smiles, high energy, and lots of giggles !!!!! It was an entirely different Anele — WHAT AN ANSWERED PRAYER !!!!! I just know it was Jesus showing us that He’s got Anele in the palm of His hand — and that’s the safest place to be 🙂

This next week we will be taking him to the doctor and trying to purchase some more clothes for his entire family. Please continue to pray for him & his family! If you feel inclined to help us support him, please reach out! I’d love to partner with you on this journey.

Lastly, I just wrapped up a study I have been in in 1 Timothy, and a verse that has been really weighing on my heart is 1 Timothy 6:12, “Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of eternal life to which you were called and about which you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” I love this verse so much because on the field it can be so easy to get burnt out or discouraged, but as disciples of Christ we are charged to fight the GOOD fight. Not the easy fight, not the short fight — but the GOOD fight. This fight is worth it. This fight is a GOOD fight because my Jesus has gone before us and WON the battle against the enemy and we get to rejoice in this truth as long as we may life & for an eternity after that !!!

Prayer Requests!

  • our health (again) !!
    • We have all been getting sick & injured and allllll the things the enemy wants to pull to slow us down
  • our hearts !!
    • This upcoming week (2/23-28) is our last week of ministry in Swaziland before we transition to South Africa. Would you please pray that we would steward our precious limited time here well & not waste a second of time to share the Good News with someone
  • the people of Swazi
    • Would you just pray that their hearts be softened to hear the Lord speaking to them this week !!!

Thank you again for taking the time to read my blog and partner with me throughout this experience. This wouldn’t be possible without my support system, and I am forever grateful for y’all! I love you all and miss you dearly! Please text me ! Send me life updates, voice memos, pictures — I want them all !!!!
